I'm from Michigan, and in all honesty, it's a pretty boring state. There is one thing you should go see though: The Great Lakes! They are beautiful!

Have you ever been to Frankenmuth, an apparent replica of a German town?

Been to Detroit? Any special foods?

I was from the SW part of Michigan. I know it can be boring, but it is great for you to have the lakes nearby! I now live in Ohio and do not really have much to do here because of the lack of lakes!

I am from Canada but live right across the river from Detroit...I agree the Great Lakes are gorgeous. As for Detroit, I still think there are fabulous restaurants there and some pretty good shopping. The only reason I don't go there more often is because of the border crossing...Sheesh those people can make your life miserable....

Yes, I heard they have tightened down on the border crossings. It seems like they just want to make life more difficult on everyone! I looked at some property up in Maine and it said make sure you have your passport if you want to visit the other five acres because it was in Canada!

Yes we now need a passport to cross the border instead of just our birth certificates. That can be a costly endeavor for people with large families....As for tightening down at the border, it has just become ridiculous. Because it is only one mile across the border, I sometimes forgot I was entering a different country. But trust me, the border guards make it very clear that I am entering the U.S. and they put us through the ringer....Years ago, they welcomed us but not anymore. And to be fair, I'm sure its just as difficult for the Americans to cross into Canada.

Yes, I can see where it would be costly. It is silly that it is so tight with a country that is to our North and an ally at that! I can understand Mexico because of all the drug runners and the fact that Mexico is not an ally, but Canada for petes sake was almost part of the US at one point in history!

I am sorry for the Michigan people. It is a lovely state, but cannot really field a football team! Hopefully this year will be your year and you can win finally. However, you still have to play Ohio State.

I am sure that Ohio State will lose this year! The team is a good one and one which can easily take down any of the Big Ten teams. Without Michigan in the Big Ten it would be a poor league to be in.

I made it out to Ann Arbor one year, but I didn't have time to go see the stadium. It was a quick business trip. But I would love to see that game in either stadium!
